Yet another phishing scam - targets BT Yahoo customers

The migration from BT Yahoo to bt.com mail has already taken place and you should not receive any e-mail from BT advising you change anything.
Delete any such e-mails. Do not click on any links in them.
If you do get one of these Phishing e-mails and get taken in then all your subsequent e-mails end up on someone else's screen.

Music for an Autumn Evening 28 September

Friends of Kirton Church present
Illuminati
Saturday 28 September
7:30pm Kirton Church

Illuminati, an a capella group of some 20 singers under the direction of Andrew Gosden, will be performing in Kirton Church.
The programme will be a wide range of choral music from Elizabethan times, music of Thomas Morley John Dowland and others of the period who wrote magnificent madrigals which are still being sung today, and have come down through the centuries. Different periods have embraced them and given them voice along with many other genres of music but all through these, folk songs have been a link and are with us today in many different forms. Gerald Finzi, Michael Tippett in the 20th century, and even singers given to more modern modes have produced music which hopefully will survive as of old.

The evening in Kirton Church will be an exciting and uplifting one that will appeal right across the board to many people.

There will be no tickets but a retiring collection at the end of the evening. Refreshments will be served in the interval.

Come along to Kirton on the 28th of September for an evening of joyful and melodic sounds.

Health hazard warning - Brown Tail moth caterpillar

You may have seen the article in the EADT or Ipswich Evening Star
There are about a dozen clusters on a young oak tree as you leave Kirton, just past Brook Cottage on the opposite side of the road as you head towards the entrance to the fishing lake. The landowner has been made aware.
The larvae are dark brown and hairy with a series of white marks down the side and a characteristic pair of orangey-red ‘warts’ at the rear end.
They spend the winter months in tough webbing nests (above right) and emerge in spring to feed communally until about the end of May.
Although occasionally found on oaks, brown-tail moth larvae are much more common on hedgerow trees such as blackthorn and hawthorn or on scrubby plants, especially bramble.
The hairs of these larvae can provoke an allergic reaction, so contact with the larvae or their nests should be avoided.

Woodbridge School Swing band – 16 March 2013

Concert in Kirton Church Hall
7.30 PM Saturday 16th March 2013

In aid of the Friends of Kirton Church

The ever popular Woodbridge School Swing Band will present a concert in the Church Hall at 7.30 pm on Saturday March 16th 2013. The concert will be in two halves with an interval for light refreshments. Admission is free with a retiring collection for the Friends of Kirton Church and the Swing Band music fund.

The Swing Band last played in Kirton in 2009. The hall was packed to bursting and a wonderful concert was enjoyed by over a hundred people. The Head of Music tells me that this year the band is again producing an excellent sound and we are confident that this year’s concert will be every bit as good as the last one. We look forward to seeing you there.
